On December 13, 1993 the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office held the first
annual Homicide Victim Memorial Service and Vigil Walk. Every year since,
it has been held on the second Monday in December.
The purpose of the Annual Homicide Victim Memorial Service and Vigil Walk is
to memorialize victims killed by violence and to assist homicide survivors
