The Diversion Division is an innovative
program that identifies, investigates and supervises nonviolent, low risk, first time
felony offenders with the consent of the investigating police agency and victim. Those
accepted are diverted from the normal criminal justice system and given the opportunity
for rehabilitation while making full financial restitution to the victim. Annually,
diversion participants pay over $450,000 in restitution to victims of crime and complete
over 8,000 hours of volunteer community service work.
