State v. Todd P. Shellabarger

2007 CR 2105

 

Todd P. Shellabarger, convicted on September 25, 2007 of two counts of Gross Sexual Imposition, was sentenced today to one year in the penitentiary on each count, to be served concurrently.  In addition, the defendant was designated a Sexually Oriented Offender and a Child Victim Offender.  Upon his release from prison, Shellabarger will be on post-release control for five years, and will be required to verify his address with the County Sheriff every 180 days for the next 25 years.

 

The defendant coached girls basketball and softball for approximately 10 years in the Brookville and Northmont area.  The defendant formerly coached the Dayton Vipers Basketball team.  He was convicted of having inappropriate contact of a sexual nature with two females that were under the age of 13 at the time. 

 

Prosecutor Mat Heck, Jr. said, “This defendant violated and abused his position of trust as a youth basketball coach.  He must be held accountable for his reprehensible conduct.”
